The History of AllStar Wings & Ribs^®

In the spring of 2003, the AllStar Wings & Ribs^® concept was born.

It began at a gathering at the home of President and CEO Tom Anastopoulos, where Tom prepared ribs that his guests thought were the best they had ever eaten! Tom recognized that there was not an establishment that served truly great wings and ribs in a fun atmosphere, using great quality products and providing great service.

Recognized by its multi-flagged logo, unique interior colours and multitudes of televisions and memorabilia on the walls, AllStar Wings & Ribs^® has quickly gained a reputation as an outstanding themed restaurant that delivers GREAT wings and ribs, great value, abundant portions and a memorable dining experience.

It soon became evident that the success came as a result of careful planning and meticulous execution of the concept. Tom was sensitive to the fact that customers demand value and value meant a quality product, fair price, great service and a convenient location.

The first AllStar Wings & Ribs^® Restaurant was launched in Markham, Ontario in June 2003 in a 2,500 square foot location. This forty (40) seat restaurant was a great success from the start; with sales approaching $1 million in that first year.

Encouraged by the success of the first location, the Elgin Mills location in Richmond Hill, Ontario opened in 2006. It too was a huge hit with annual sales numbers in the first year that even 200-seat restaurants could not approach.

The year 2009 marked a milestone for The AllStar Group of Companies with the opening of its Canadian Flagship Location, Training Centre and Corporate Office on Rutherford Road in Vaughan, Ontario.

With a proven success of the food concept and business model, expansion plans through franchising and complimentary avenues for growth continue to attract talent and resources to the AllStar Wings & Ribs^® Brand.

Although AllStar Wings & Ribs^® may be considered by some to be the “new kid on the block”, Tom believes that a solid foundation for long term growth is in place. The AllStar Group of Companies believes in a people-driven organization.
